Training Resumes
Well it’s been an extremely busy winter season and now that the weather is finally (I’m optimistic) getting a little better I have started training for the Lone Star Triathlon in Galveston on April 25. I am doing the Olympic Distance which will include a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km (25 miles) bike ride and a 10K (approx. 6 miles) run. The swim will be open water and will be the biggest challenge by far. Swimming is easily my weakest event and I will be spending a lot of time over the next 8 weeks preparing myself for the chaos that defines swim starts.
I’m doing this triathlon with a buddy of mine who is far more fit at these than I am and will be doing the half-ironman the day after me.
I’ve also signed up for the Warrior Dash in May. For those of you who don’t what a “Warrior Dash” is, Google it and find out. All I can say is that it involves rope ladders, barbed wire and a leap over fire. It should be fun! Hopefully i’ll post more as the training continues and add the results from my runs over the Winter.
His Joy is my Strength,
Peter
